Differences between basic lighting and key lighting
- Downlight
Because the beam angle is relatively large, the lighting effect of the downlight is usually soft and uniform. As a concealed lamp embedded in the ceiling, all light is projected downward, which belongs to direct light distribution. This makes downlight, like most main lights, become common basic lighting at home, which is usually used for the lighting of the whole space. - Spotlight
Before the design of non-main lamps became popular, spotlights were usually used as commercial lighting. This kind of lamp is common in clothing stores and used as lighting for clothes. Similarly, in the field of home, the function of spotlights is lighting, focusing on decorations, and improving the overall aesthetic feeling.
Differences in installation methods
- Downlight
More common downlights are generally embedded to reduce the sense of space compression. If the top-mounted embedded lamps are hung, the height of the lamps should not be too high, so the height of the lamps should be 7cm-8cm. You can buy an appropriate number of downlights according to the space size and layout, and then arrange them according to your favorite style.
- Spotlight
The spotlight can freely adjust the light direction. The most common installation method is track type, that is, installing the track around the ceiling or above the furniture, and the spotlight is mostly suspended on the track. If it is a concealed spotlight, it can be directly embedded in the ceiling, the sense of space will be stronger, and the lamp height should be controlled within 7cm.
